Correctly made, polyethylene pipe joints are equally as strong as the pipe itself and have the same 50-year design life as the pipe itself. Pipe and fusion joints both have a 2 to 1 safety factor. Each fusion unit is properly serviced and completely checked before it is released to a customer for rental. When each unit is returned, it is completely checked and serviced.
